ByondBites FZC is a company registered in the Ajman Free Zone, United Arab Emirates, and operates in compliance with:

  • UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021), currently enforced by the UAE Data Office.
  • Saudi Arabia Personal Data Protection Law (2023), effective from September 2024.
  • India Digital Personal Data Protection Act (2023), in force as of July 2024.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate and improve our Services, including:

2.1 Account and Identity Information

  • Name, email address, phone number, and account credentials.
  • Preferences such as language and regional settings.

2.2 User-Generated Data

  • Images, pantry or fridge scans, ingredient lists, and notes submitted within the app.
  • Data and communications generated through AI or human coaching features.

2.3 Health and Lifestyle Data

  • Collected only when you use coaching or nutrition planning features.
  • Dietary preferences, allergies, nutrition goals, and health objectives voluntarily provided by the user.

2.4 Technical and Device Data

  • IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and system configuration.
  • Application usage logs and performance data.

2.5 Location Information

Approximate or precise location data (when you enable location permissions) to recommend region-specific recipes or grocery options.

2.6 Payment Data

Payment information is processed securely through third-party payment gateways such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Stripe. ByondBites FZC does not store or have access to full card details.

2.7 Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies and analytics tools are used to maintain session functionality, personalize the experience, measure performance, and detect misuse. Users can manage or disable cookies through browser or device settings. A cookie banner is presented on the first visit to collect consent, in accordance with applicable laws.

3. Purpose of Data Processing

  • Deliver personalized recipes and cooking recommendations.
  • Enable AI and human coaching features.
  • Support future grocery service integrations.
  • Communicate updates, promotions, or product changes.
  • Detect and prevent unauthorized use or fraud.
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell or trade personal information. Data may be shared with:

  • Authorized service providers for hosting, analytics, or payment.
  • Coaching professionals providing nutrition guidance.
  • Grocery and retail partners (for future integrations).
  • Government authorities, when disclosure is legally required.

All third parties are contractually obligated to uphold privacy protections equal to those of ByondBites FZC.

5. Data Storage and Transfer

Data is stored securely in the UAE and in other jurisdictions with adequate protections. Cross-border transfers are protected using Standard Contractual Clauses or legally recognized safeguards.

6. Security Measures

We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encryption, firewalls, and role-based access controls. Despite best efforts, no system is entirely secure, and users accept this risk when using our Services.

7. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary to:

  • Deliver the Services.
  • Meet legal obligations.
  • Resolve disputes or enforce terms.

Once expired, data is deleted or anonymized.

8. User Rights

In accordance with UAE PDPL, Saudi PDPL, and India DPDP Act, users may:

  • Access and request a copy of their personal data.
  • Correct or delete inaccurate or outdated data.
  • Withdraw consent for processing or marketing.
  • Object to automated decisions.

9. Marketing Communications

We may send promotional content, offers, or updates. Users can opt out by clicking “unsubscribe” or changing notification settings.

10. AI and Coaching Data

Inputs in AI or coaching features may be processed to improve service quality. Data is reviewed in anonymized or aggregated form. Users can request deletion of this data via support@byondbites.com.

11. Grocery Integration Data (Future Features)

When these services launch, only necessary data such as delivery preferences will be shared. Users will be notified and must give explicit consent prior to sharing. We are not liable for pricing, availability, or fulfillment of third-party services.

12. Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for users aged 13 or older. If personal data from a child under 13 is detected, it will be deleted immediately.

13. Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy may change to reflect new features or legal updates. We will publish revised versions with a new effective date. Continued use of the Services indicates acceptance of any revised version.
